detailed program

Day 1 | Denpasar (dinner)

Arrival in Bali and welcome. Transfer to your hotel in Sanur (approx. 30 min) and dinner.

Day 2 | Denpasar - Sorong (breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day at the hotel then transfer to the airport and night flight to Sorong.

Day 3 | Sorong - Misool (full board)

Arrive early in the morning in Sorong, West Papua, and meet your guide, then board your Phinisi, a traditional Indonesian schooner. Sail to Misool in the far south of Raja Ampat National Park.

Day 4 | Wayil and Walib islands (full board)

A beautiful start to your cruise with a day of snorkeling on the reefs of the far south of the national park around Wayil Island, where you have a chance to encounter harmless blacktip and whitetip reef sharks and schools of humpback parrotfish. Designated a national park, the Raja Ampat archipelago comprises over 600 islands and boasts the greatest marine biodiversity in the world, with over a thousand different fish species and more than 600 varieties of coral. Throughout your underwater journey, you'll explore a teeming underwater world with fins and snorkel every day. Enjoy a relaxing late morning on a small, idyllic beach, followed by an afternoon excursion by dinghy* among the karst pinnacles. Overnight anchorage and a short sail.

Day 5 | Talmulol Archipelago (full board)

This morning, we set off in the dinghy for another exploration of a karst labyrinth leading to a truly breathtaking viewpoint. We enjoyed a swim in the crystal-clear waters before returning to the boat. Then, we visited a village where ethnic groups from the South Moluccas, the Bajo and Bugis peoples, have mingled. The Bugis people originated in Sulawesi. They are renowned for being excellent carpenters, navigators, fishermen (and sometimes even very skilled pirates!). The Bajo are now mostly settled, but they owe their nickname "sea gypsies" to their ancestral nomadic ways. We had intriguing encounters and captivating scenes of daily life amidst a small community whose way of life is diametrically opposed to our own. We spent the night at anchor and enjoyed a short sail.

Day 6 | Wagmab Archipelago (full board)

The Wagmab archipelago and its labyrinth of islets conclude the exploration of this incredible region at the ends of the earth. Words fail to describe this paradise, where, once again, karst peaks rise from waters as translucent as they are teeming with animal and plant life. You will explore it in the morning, wandering from one "waterhole" to another, discovering exceptional snorkeling sites unique to Raja Ampat. Lunch will be served on board, followed by sailing towards Penemu in central Raja Ampat.

Day 7 | Penemu Island - Wayag (full board)

Arrival in the early morning off the small Penemu archipelago. After breakfast, snorkeling at a site sometimes frequented by juvenile blacktip reef sharks. Time permitting, there's an opportunity to visit Penemu, a sort of "miniature Wayag" with its numerous limestone karsts scattered around breathtaking coves and pools. Then, we head towards the far north of the Raja Ampat archipelago, specifically towards Wayag. Overnight on board during the sail to Misool.

Day 8 | Wayag Archipelago (Full board)

The first crossing of the equator on this journey, leading to the Wayag archipelago in the far northwest of Raja Ampat. The combined effects of wind, rain, and tides have sculpted a succession of islets, karst pinnacles, and vertiginous cliffs dotted with turquoise coves. An almost surreal landscape that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on your trip. You'll appreciate this unique scenery all the more when viewed from a vantage point overlooking it. Relax on idyllic little beaches and enjoy exceptionally rich snorkeling sites for the rest of the day. A truly magical place that few have the chance to discover in a lifetime!

Day 9 | Wayag Archipelago (full board)

A day in Wayag, hopping from beach to beach, enjoying swims in increasingly crystal-clear waters and snorkeling with impressive sea turtles and manta rays. At the end of the day, we sail to Arborek Island, crossing the equator once again.

Day 10 | Manta Ray Reefs and Arborek Island (full board)

A short sail in the early morning takes you to the small island of Wai. Then, explore the surrounding coral reefs with a snorkeling session. They teem with diverse and abundant marine life, a true kaleidoscope of shapes and colors. Turtles and reef sharks are sure to make an appearance. Later, you'll try to witness the ballet of manta rays, magnificent species that can reach a wingspan of 7 meters. An extraordinary spectacle that inspires awe, grace, and serenity. Next, continue to Arborek Island and its vibrant, remote atmosphere. In the evening, a short sail takes you to Gam Island.

Day 11 | Birds of Paradise Watching (Full Board)

Experience an exceptional moment that budding botanists, nature lovers, wildlife photography enthusiasts, or simply the curious will truly appreciate. You'll have the opportunity to witness the astonishing bird of paradise during its courtship display. This unusual display is world-renowned but rarely observed. It's a privileged moment that your local guide will help you capture. Known throughout the region as "the man who talks to birds," he mimics the bird of paradise's song to attract it, much to your amazement. You'll also be on the lookout for kuskus (which comic book fans might compare to the famous Marsupilami), as well as parrots, hornbills, and other iconic, if not endemic, animal species found in this part of the world. Afterward, you'll enjoy the rich underwater life observable under the pier of the 4th village; sweetlips, giant clams, and clownfish, among others, have made their home there. Then, it's off to Kri Island.

Day 12 | Kri and Mansuar Islands (full board)

Arriving at daybreak near Kri Island, we embarked on a first snorkeling session amidst vibrantly colored reefs, opening this extraordinary journey. Then, we headed to Mansuar Island for a stroll through the village before enjoying another snorkeling session in the late afternoon.

Day 13 | Batanta Island (full board)

Early in the morning, enjoy a roughly 3-hour hike through the primary rainforest. You'll first traverse a mangrove forest whose canopy reaches an unusual height for a mangrove forest—a fragile yet vital ecosystem. Then, follow a narrow path alongside a crystal-clear river to the magnificent waterfalls of Batanta Island. Soak in this remote atmosphere before returning to the boat in the late morning. Afterwards, relax before enjoying a final snorkeling session in the surrounding underwater world. The afternoon concludes with a visit to a peaceful Papuan village.

Day 14 | Disembarkation at Sorong and flight to Denpasar (breakfast)

Disembark in the morning before your transfer to Sorong airport for your return flight to Denpasar. Transfer to the small seaside resort of Sanur.

Day 15 | Denpasar (breakfast)

Free day in Bali before your transfer to the airport.
